We are building one.

"A space where women are held as whole humans, where children are welcomed, and where community is not something you have to earn."

The Village Mothers was born from a simple belief: that the kind of village that used to hold families together does not have to be a thing of the past. It can be rebuilt. Intentionally, lovingly, and right here in our community.

We are Bre and Amanda, two women and best friends who have spent years watching people move through life without enough support around them. Parents without a village. Women without a circle. Families without somewhere to turn. We decided to stop waiting for someone else to fix it.

The Village Mothers is our answer. A community gathering space, an events and programming hub, and a non-profit support arm all woven together into one living, breathing village.

We are based upstairs at Sunshine Studio, 3199 Highway 1, Port Maitland, Nova Scotia. And we are just getting started.

Somewhere along the way, the village got smaller. People got busier. Families got more isolated. The informal networks of support that used to exist naturally stopped being built automatically.

The Village Mothers non-profit arm exists to start rebuilding that. Not with programs and paperwork, but with real, practical, community-led support for the families and individuals in our area who need it most.

Amanda Ward

Crystal Practitioner · Owner, Sunshine Studio

Amanda is a crystal and gemstone practitioner and the owner of Sunshine Studio in Port Maitland. She works with the energetic and symbolic properties of stones to support healing, intention-setting, and creative connection. She is the heart behind the space we gather in.

Bre Hamilton

Coach · Owner, Soulful You Coaching

Bre is a coach based in coastal Nova Scotia who supports people healing from religious trauma and rebuilding their identity and spiritual life on their own terms. Her work is trauma-informed, embodied, and deeply rooted in the belief that healing is a community practice, not a solo endeavour.
